HI,

I purchased the pro version earlier this year, (around May), and I created a category for Members so each person could have their own gallery.  Haven't done much with it lately, but now I have a demand for it, and I can't add new members to this gallery.  If I go to the members gallery, there are no links to add a new category, (member), and if I use the add category from the main page, the user gallery is not an option for the sub category.  I'm baffled...  The members gallery is there and can be viewed, but it doesn't show up in my control panel.

I need the latest update also, but don't know where to find it?

Next, is there a way for members or mself to just create a gallery for them without putting them under the members gallery, and make it so only that member can add pics to it?

Yahoo is dumping photo hosting and our email groups have lots of pics and I want to get them instead of one of these other free pic hosting sites.

Any Help would be appreciated.  Also, I am using Bleen skin mod, not the friendliest, but it matches the color scheme of my web site.

If you would like to see it or check it out, PM or email me and I can send a link and let you see my issues first hand.

   Thanks,
   Dano

Latest stable:

To access both links you need upgrade your forum account. Using the licenses button on the top of the site to give you access to the customer forums.

Gets a little tricky normally the user would click on the My Gallery link then be taken to their gallery page where they can add a category. We have a mod in the forums that will add a link in their profile to their gallery page and under their posts as well.
For now you can access a user's gallery page for one that does not exit yet by going to the following url
http://www.yourforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;su=user;u=1
Replace the 1 with the ID_MEMBER that you want to create the category for.

Wow,

Is there another way to recover the license?  We had to move, spent a month tent camping across the country, left our desktops behind including lots of lost emails.  I gave my domain name for which the gallery would be licensed but I believe we changed emails here because our server was SBCGlobal and they are changing things with the switch to ATT.

Sorry, hate to be a bother, but I have no remaining emails with the license in it.  You can probably tell I have the pro version by checking out the forum gallery, if you want I'll PM the domain so you can check.

Thanks in advance for any assistance in this matter.  Maybe license should be included on the profile some how...

now I have another problem, when I try input the license, I'm being told this license is already being used or has already been used.  I still can't get to the link with the updated version.

Sometimes things are never easy huh?

OK,

What am I doing wrong now?

Entered under my correct user name, it still won't let me in, so I go to the licenses button, it shows the domain registered to my user name, and it makes me enter the domain and the license, then it gives me this message again:

This license '******************' has already been used!

   Is it me again?

Thanks,

It still won't let me in to the latest stable, but I can get into the latest beta.  I guess I can work with that one.

Stable still does the same thing, tells me I'm not permitted, try to add license and it says it is already used.

New question,

I downloaded beta 1.3, installing over Gallery Pro 1.2.  My SMF is 1.1.3

I uploaded the package, but it does not show an install option, nor does the gallery 1.2 show an uninstall optin unless I go to installed packages.

Do I uninstall 1.2, then then will the option for installation of 1.3 appear?  If I uninstall, will all existing images be lost?  Or do I manually overwrite all existing files wiht new ones?

I read the readme file, it only says uninstall gallery lite first, it does not specify to uninstall a previous pro version.  It does say to upload the packages to the forum then apply, but that option is not available to me.

Additional question, when I do a back up for the forum, does this also back up images in the gallery?  Is there an option to back up gallery images seperately from the forum?

Thanks for all you help, it is really appreciated, and we will always support your mods, they are great.

If you installing SMF 1.3 beta uninstall the old version of the gallery. No images or database entries are removed on uninstall. So your gallery is safe.

Add this to the package manager url and you will be able to install / uninstall 1.1.2 mods.
;version_emulate=1.1.2

Should look something like this
http://www.yourforum.com/index.php?action=packages;version_emulate=1.1.2

Normally releases, does not include betas, come in two versions full install and the upgrade package.
If there is an upgrade package for that version of the Gallery then you do not have to uninstall the old version of the mod.

Additional question, when I do a back up for the forum, does this also back up images in the gallery?  Is there an option to back up gallery images seperately from the forum?
If you are doing backups though your forums admin. Admin -> Forum Maintenance that only backups up the database tables and does not backup the files of the site.

Gallery images are stored on the website in the gallery folder and those would need to be backedup as well.

Thanks for the tips and he help.

I would rather have installed the latest stable, but it wouldn't let me in to that page for some reason. Keeps asking for a license then telling me that license has apready been used, LOL  I know that!!

I'll get this installed, then add the link to the profile for the gallery.  I think this will make it a much easier and more readily used gallery.
