I have a catch all and i do it with everything that i sign up for, i used smfhacks@ mydoamin .com for this one. i mostly do it so when an e-mail gets lots of spam, i just block that one.

Anyways, I have only used smfhacks@ here, because, well this is smfhacks. I just got a e-mail addressed to SMFHACKS from    Pets4u.co.za , a website i have never been too.

THANKS FOR GIVING MY E-MAIL ADDRESS WITH PROBABLY MOST OF EVERYONES ON THE BOARD!

I do not sell any emails from people who register here.

Probalby was just a bot that got your email address from your profile. I always make my email hidden when I register on a forum.

Then probably something with your mail server. A bot can send to all addresses on the server if the server is not configured correctly. I have zero reason to sell email addresses from people here since people here are my customers. Email addresses are worth less than a penny.

Delete the email account if you don't use it and move on.

i dont have any problem whats so ever or at any of the smf sites i use. I'd like to see a copy of this spam email there buddy because quite frankly, if your email was hidden and setup the way you say, I have a very very hard time believing this is nothing but fabrication on your part.

Also run a realy test on your server at

It should not fail any tests.

Mr. Hacks...this is not for you, but for the rest of your customers (and me).

I have been a member for several months...and I have NOT received any emails as a result of joining this forum.

Whats your e-mail, i can forward it. it was sent to smfhacks@ my domain .com which i originally signed up with, i find it more likly my address was given away then someone decided to randomly send one to that address with its not listed anywhere else.

I signed up a long time ago so I could download and try out smf gallery I think it was. It's not like i signed up yesterday, wouldn't that be more fishy then a long time ago?
