Make sure you intergrate with the trader rating system for buyer/seller feedback.

K - here is a question (already, I know....).  The bid now button on the listings  How do I remove it??  Items are basically items for sale by the user.  Like a newspaper buy and sell ad.

That is a key part of the mod if you are using auctions. You can remove it classifieds.template.php under template_viewlisting.

smalldonkey,

Could I get your forums url?

I would be interested in seeing how you are using the classifieds.

OK - just so I'm clear - I need to buy this mod?  Not saying the dev time wasn't worth something, just want to make sure its the classifieds system I'm buying for the $79 and I'm not missing something else. Wink

Judging by the screen shots, the description and the above poster's site (hello fellow Canadian. Smiley ), it's easily worth the dough. Smiley

Yep, that's what it looks like to me. I must say I was really looking forward to this coming out and with all the free mods I have put to use in my forums it never hit me that this one was going to cost me something, lol...

Waiting for some feedback from some other guys on if they think this is something our site could use. I for one think it is and would love to put it to use ASAP.

Would be great if there was a lite version or a 30 demo or something. It sure looks like it has about everything a guy could want.

Nice job!

I'm heading to Europe for vacation for the next couple of weeks, but when I get back, consider mine paid for. Smiley  Happy to give it a try and be a guinea pig for others.  I could use the $80 write off anyway... Wink

I look at it this way:

Would I have been able to get all of this for $80 if I hired the job out to someone myself?  Unlikely - even in India they'd have charged me more I'm sure... Wink

Nice work 'Hacks - nice work indeed! Smiley  And thanks. Cheesy

Sure its $79, I was hoping for the $50 (but I just didn't celebrate the release with beer or wine, now I am over it!)... you have to think the classifeds script was buit to seamlessly integrate with your forum and its mods.  It is a reasonable price.  I have gone through a number of classifieds scripts over the last few years.... some positive and some negative experiences.... For Example:  eclassifieds... now that was a waste of time and money... I could run a whole forum for years just defending this... but to those that have it and like it GREAT! - I am happy someone enjoyed the experience.  I run 68classifieds on 3 other sites including CanadianHorseWorld_dot_com.  Very, very excelllent script but I am not gifted enought to integrate it with my forum any better than it is now... there may be better scripts out there now but I haven't looked because I have been waiting for SMF Classifieds.  Simply because I knew it would blend with the forum (if you wan't to look, party on... try hotscripts_dot_com... I would be interested to know).  I think the super duper HACK master did good with this release.

This script feels catered to an aution/bidding format.  But the script is easy to alter (heh, I would be "smallretard"... but "smalldonkey" was better for my self estem) AND if you are having problems SMFHacks is an amazing help.  Actually there is alot of help and helpers right in this form.  That is why I think SMF will far surpass everyone else.  It is simple and clean, friendly and helpful!

I played around with with the classifeds script today and it is really nice.  The titles in the PHP script tells you exactly what the script below is doing.  If you cut something out or change something in the template or english files... so far it seems really easy to customize.  An there is the option to allow visitors to upgrade listing features (and you can charge them a fee for this - I just set it to paypal, but there are other options).  You can have sub categories... which is nice.  I haven't used played with this yet, but I might just to keep my site "cleaner".

Oh, almost forgot... as for hiring the job out to someone else yourself?  Good luck.  They would soak you so bad and take your broken down shoes just because!  And then if you wanted changes they would take you underwear and leave you with nothing!  SimpleMachines and SMFHACKs is the BEST!!  (well, hod on a minute... being able to add YouTube videos into the gallery would make you the VERY BEST)...lol - I am a suck hole...lol!

K- So, for any one who is still hesitant..  If you want a nice clean simple classifieds script to run in your forum with enough features to make your forum the place to be... well this is it! Grin
