Hi everyone at SMF Hacks.  I want to know if anyone else has tried this.  I have the PRO gallery and tried something today.  I have the youtube video MOD on my forums.  I uploaded a picture today in the Gallery and then in the description I embedded the youtube tags with a video URL in it.  It works.  Has anyone else been doing this on their forum gallery?

yeah, I just noticed that tonight. I only have the Gallery Lite at this time, but it works there too.

I was looking at a way to index all the videos we have uploaded to our server. One of my moderators wanted a way to find all the videos in one place with the code needed to copy and paste the video into post.

I was going to just start a post with all the links to the videos, but then I started to play around in the gallery.

This is what I come up with so far.

Video Gallery

From what I understand if I go with the gallery pro then I can have the title names with my thumbnail images. That would make it a lot easier to find what video your looking for.

It's cool how the video will play inside the gallery like that.

That is pretty slick.  Nice discovery!  Half the battle is done.  It would just be nice to have it a bit more user friendly so a visitor doesn't have to save and add a picture plus add the tags and the video link.  Basically just the option for a image or the video link.

either way it is a start.... superior find!

What part can't you get to work?

The still image of the video clip I had to create. When the video is on screen I used the Print Screen button to get a snap shot of the video clip. The cropped, resized, etc. until I had the snap shot image to use.

The code line is of coarse manual put in the post using the code tags.

The video that plays in the description is put in with the same quicktime tags I use to post any video.

I went through it really slow... I had a spelling error in my tags.  I was cutting and pasting - duh! Embarrassed

I have done that a lot when I copy and paste code inside brackets. For some reason extra will get highlighted on the end then I have to watch what I paste, lol...

Done it so many times that I should learn from it soon. Smiley
