Have you ever thought about extending the gallery to support video as well.

SMF Gallery Pro would be a force to be reckoned with if you could use it to upload pictures and video. Right now there is no product that I've seen that allows you to have a video gallery in SMF.

I would love to be able to upload my own videos and stream like YouTube and have a setting to allow the poster to download said video. I would also love to be able to use the imbed codes from YouTube, MySpace, & Google Video to add them in the gallery. That would seriously make this gallery the best modification in history. You'd have no problem charging $100 for that instead of $50 most likely.

Sorry to hear you are not well....

I was just thinking.  I there a way to add html to the gallery description??  Then video can just be embedded into the description?  If it is possible and someone can send me in the right direction to alter code, i wll give it a go...

When I say adding video, I mean users uploading video like they do pictures, not linking to youtube or other sites.

The only thing I've seen that does that is Coppermine, but that's a seperate product. SMFGallery is a great mod and I'd love to see it expand to the ability to have videos uploaded.

I don't mean true "streaming" video. It could start off small, like the ability to upload videos that can be embedded in the site like wmv mpg, etc. You'd want to be able to limit the size etc.

Then maybe later move to something like youtube and other ssites that convert the video to a flash player.

They have their own proprietary format...actually, it may even run from their website, but it is a HIGH END product.

Mainly looking for feedback.
This mod adds one new permission to add video's.
Also adds a new link under a category and user category to add a video if they have the add video permission.

Settings right now include:
Max File size
File Types allowed
Player height and width settings
Show download link
Show html link codes

The video mod requires a thumbnail/picture of the video in order to add the video to the gallery.
