Is it possible to allow guests to purchase through the store?  If not, I'd like to make a feature request.  It would be nice to have it as either a global setting for the store - or on a product by product basis.

Thank you.

Not currently built in.

If a guest tries to package a program they are then prompted to either register or login.

I was thinking about adding a page for a guest to enter all their information and then it would create an account for them on the forum and allow the guest to complete the purchase.

That also sounds like a good idea.  We have a club that sells a few items / raffles / donations and sometimes our store customers don't want to register.

I have debated adding the typical hyperlink into each description for non-registered members, but this will be too much work to maintain and I shouldn't have to do that.  For now I will encourage the registration bit.  But, you might consider an option to allow guests to purchase.  (It looks like you have that option in the classifieds add-in, but I haven't gotten around to configuring that yet.

Thanks for the prompt response.

we really need this option on Downyonderbbq.com also, i dont wan t to make everyone register in the forums just to purchase something.

I didnt register at home depot to go in and buy a 2x4 and i dont think us Admin at downyonderbbq.com should make the guests register to make a purchase either.

Please resend the license for downyonderbbq.com store program?

Will be added to the next release of the store as an option  Only thing that will not work is digital products that have downloads since there is no way to track a quest if they have access to a file or not.

Not sure. Right now it looks like if they do guest purchasing the shopping cart will not work for them since there would be no way to track which person has what cart item.
A qucik fix not tested for non shopping cart items is to change this line.
Open Themes/default/Store.template.php
Find
Code:
if (!$context['user']['is_guest'] && $itemoutstock == false)
Change to
Code:
if ($itemoutstock == false)

Hi,
I've just installed SMF Store (my 2nd purchase from here, the Gallery Pro is great  Cool ) & it seems that it will work great. Not viewable to public as yet as we are waiting on merchandise to arrive.

I was also wondering the same about guests purchasing. I have only around 5-8% of total visitors that are registered members. While we are taking steps to encourage guests to become members it would be great if they could purchase on their first visit without joining.

Q- As a newbie to SMF Store, I'm wondering how the delivery address for merchandise is provided to us? Does it come from Paypal or do we need members to have their address filled in in their profile?

Cheers,

Sweetwater..

It could be done but I would either ask them to create a username and password to and auto register them on the forum.

Or I could just let guests buy an item but then digital produts would not work since there would not be a  way for them to login and get the downloads.

Hi SMFHacks,
Thanks for the reply.

Now that version 1.2 is out, is there any update on the guest purchases, even if it for non-digital products??

Regards,

Sweetwater
