Yes... i agree. A PRIVATE message should stay private. In RC3 you can enable reporting of personal messages.... This option allows your users to report personal messages they receive to the administration team. This may be useful in helping to track down any abuse of the personal messaging system. - Rik©

No offence but I didn't ask how you guys felt about it I ask if anyone knew of the hack because this hack is around for just about every other forum software. Some people like to keep an eye on troublesome members who try it on behind the scene's and you'd be surprised how many large forums do this Anyway thanks for giving your opinion very usefull not

I am pretty sure a lot of SMF admins that are coders use this mod on their forums. As long SMF team finds this unethical, you wont find that posted nowhere.

This mod existed at one time on SMF and as I recall, the mod author pulled it at the urging of the minority.
I happen to agree that PM's should be private but as the original poster of this thread said, there are some exceptions. For instance, on my boards, where egos run rampant, it would be a nice tool to prevent anarchy

It wouldn't be hard to make reallly. Just sometimes people store sensitive infomation in the pms.

you can see and read all pms on your forum through your database. No need for any mod although having it be interfaced within the admin area would be easy to get at.

Well I think Admin should have the option to check this via admincp if someone writes the mod but anyway for now how to you check via the database what should I be looking for ?

This is what annoys me who the hell do they think they are if they don't want this then they are not forced to use it. The fact is this can and is being used to stop trouble on forums so if they don't like it they don't have to use it
