I am wondering if this is available for certain categories only, or if its access to everything in the store?

Not at the moment might make a good feature request.

It was designed originally since someone wanted a product like a club to access all downloads.

I see. That makes more sense to me now.

Yeah, I have a series of tutorial videos that im currently selling and I was thinking that selling the set of 30 was easier as a category than trying to put 30 100 mb videos in one zip file.

I think I stand a better chance at selling them as a set vs independently. Here's my problem though.. I have several categories in which I have videos for so giving them access to all downloads isn't an option.

It would be easiest for me to give them either access to a category of videos, or be able to attach multiple downloads to 1 product. What do you think?

Thanks hacks. The store is very cool either way.

I would almost maybe create a separate membergroup for the user's then create a forum for only that membergroup and have access to the downloads. Similar to what I do here.

Yeah, I have considered that as an option. I'll need to get better organized with all of my category permissions though. This goes back to my request for Sub Cats inheriting permissions from main cats.

Okay, i think i am going to go the membergroup membership route like you suggested. I have a side question if you have a sec for it.

I would like to custom tailor my index.template.php menus in my theme on a membergroup specific set of buttons.

For example

Member Group A would only see A related menus for links to the site while B would see nothing but B related content.

My question is this.

How do you determine the exact membergroup?

if ($context['user']['is_logged']) obviously is what most of these templates use to determine if a user is logged. Up until now i've used 'allow_callendar' to determine if they were a subscription member and show them different navigation links in the nav bar. lol I know its lame, but my skill set is primitive at best and it did actually work like a champ.

If I could do $context['membergroup]['groupA'] that would be perfect. This way I can custom tailor all of the navigation for the site based on their membership privileges.

So how do you determine the exact membergroup?
