Hi there,

We would like to see the following added to the gallery.


1. To be able to award members for there work in the gallery and be able to show if they recieved a prize for there work
2. Display a little 1st or 2nd or 3rd under there work.
3. then be able to display these in the winners gallery.

There was a somewhat similar request of a contest mod they might get both combined into one addon.

I've got most of that contest mod written actually. Still some minor issues to address. I haven't yet gotten to Awards yet. Maybe we can collaborate on what I've done and what you may have in mind.

A 2nd for that request. I  use a separate awards modul on LightArtforum.com and it is a clunky process but members love the idea of awards for their shots. EXIF dats inclusion is the other most requested feature that I receive.

Im no code jockey,, so I ask the question,, since competition requires voting,,can A script talley all votes by members? can there be more than just one category to vote on? example would be.. voting on one image,, but each image can be judged by more than one category,,, such as     1) over-all rating  2) composition 3) framing 4) originality... etc etc

then,, an admin would be able to hand out awards at many different levels,,,, best over- all ( first place second place third place) best in originality ( 1,2,3 ) etc etc etc


it would just allow more flex in an awards type site.....

Oh and another thing that would be just swell......

 lets say a competition ran from July to sept for entry,,,

at the end of entry phase, admin could flip a switch in the back that would not allow any more entries

then flip another switch that put the script in voting phase for lets say a month,,, then.. at the end of that phase voting can be turned off...

then... another switch flipped and then the voting that had been private can be displayed publicly in terms of a bar graph or something... maybe results in memberlist??

and lastly,, archived.. a members submission and final outcome ( win or not ) can be somehow attached to their profile and each new contest can be archived seperate from any new current contest.


what ya got here is a whole new component... I'd buy it !!!!!!!!!

Hey Mashby,,, I went to your site,,, you have most of this on your site already,,, quite kewl!!!!!!   all custom coding???  anything you would want to divulge?? lets say for some beers?? ..donations??  etc etc

Thanks, yeah, using Pro as the basis, added some additional fields on the DB side, added some extra code. Took some effort and I learned a lot from it. It's certainly custom. As far as divulging, I'll have to think about that. Not sure of the implications behind it.

Understand,,     great job!!!!!............ maybe someday I will get back around to learning more about using the DB and getting it to work more for me
