I'm having an issue with getting uploaded pictures to display. What folder do they upload to and what should the permissions be on that folder? I'm also having an issue upgrading to the latest version, says that "Some of the files the package manager needs to modify are not writable. This needs to be changed by logging into FTP and using it to chmod or create the files and folders. Your FTP information may be temporarily cached for proper operation of the package manager." package manager will not fix it, even if I enter the correct information. If you could let me know what the permissions are supposed to be I'll go in and manually edit them.

Thank you...

Pictures are uploaded to the classifieds folder in your smf forum.
I would also check your classifieds url in the SMF Classifieds Settings area it should be of the format of http://www.yourofrum.com/classifieds/

Permissions need to be writable. Generally for linux they advise for all files and folders in the SMF forum to be 777

Classifieds is in the root of public_html. That folder and everything in it have been set to 777 but I still can't upgrade. Hmmmm....strange.

Well... I figured it out... even though the classifieds path was set to pub_html/classifieds, the uploaded images were going into pub_html... I changed the path to that and it appears to be working now. Definitely not clean to have all those images going in the root, but I guess it works for now.

Still can't figure out why the upgrade won't work though...

The upgrade also requires access to the themes folder, the sources folder and the root directory of the forum. SMF generates backups of every file modifieds with a ~ extension on the end of them.

The classifieds folder currently just stores images.
