I installed the lite to test it out before buying the Pro version.  But I came across a problem that I can't firgure out.

I have SMF 1.1.11 and it is upto date.  I also have the arcade intall for it. No other packs install.  I install the gallery and it seemed to work just fine for me as the administor.

When my global mods try to work with the gallery, they are having upload issues with it.    The images they upload in up in a different categoty then what they sent it to.

Also when they delete an image it give an error message saying they don't have permission but deletes the image any way.

I check there setting for global mods and see that tall they settings are check except manage.

So why are they getting the error when deleting and why are the images going into the wrong category?

Not sure what would cause the wrong category issue to occur sounds more like a user error like they are not selecting the correct category when they upload an image..

But for the second issue you should give them the "Manage Gallery" permission.
The delete image permission is just for members and does not allow other members to delete images that are not their own.
The error they are getting since they are trying to delete an image that does not belong to them.

They are deleting their own images and getting that error.

And the other problem is not a user error.  I even set up a global mod account and logged in under it.  The problem happend for me as well under the global mod accoint.  But does not under the administrator.  I logged in as a guest and uploaded and had no problem.  So whatever the problem is has to dowith the global mods only.

I should have said that they are deleting their own image and getting that message but the image is deleted anyway.

I don't have any code in lite that specifically checks for the global mod group.
What is happening? Is it just uploading to a random category???

For the delete image I can't see how that would be possible. Since either deletes the image if has permission. Or if it doesn't have permission it throws the error. It uses an if statement so only one of those events will happen but not both.

When they add the go to the cartegory they want to add into.  Then they tyoe in the info and pick the file to upload.  They even double check to make sure the pull down says the correct gallery.  Then they cliick add,

So if they are adding to Category 9 it goes into category 8.  If they add to category 8 it always goes to category
1.

It is always the same category and never random.  It seems it aways goes into either 8 or 1 so far.

As for the deleting I see the error in the forum error log report, so I see it haoppening.  Again it seems to the global mods that are having this error.

That is very bizarre those things shouldn't happen at all.
It almost sounds like a hosting issue or something is messed with their php settings to cause random things to happen.

I can see it being a hosting issue if it was happening to everyone.  But this is only happening to the global mods.  Not guests. by administator and not the regular users.  Its only the global mods.

Any other ideas?

All I can think is that if the lite version is doing this to just one group, then what is wrong with the full version.  I was hoping that we could get this fix so that I can look at getting the full.

Something is wrong with your code somewhere.  What can we look at to fix this problem?

Well I can't see anything wrong with the code and haven't had any other reports of these issues.

Too look at it further would require full ftp access to your site. Along with an admin account and a global moderator account.

For security reason I can not give you admin access  or FTP.  No one in their right mind would give a stranger access like that to their site.

Since you say here is no problem with your code and from what I see there is, it leaves me know choice but to find another gallery system.

Also, just because I am the first one to discover the problem doe s not mean it does not exist,  You do have a problem with it.

Ok good luck with your search. I just can't recreate the issue so not much else I can do at this point. And with over 100k downloads I would think someone else would run into these issues.

As for security I don't really thing it is a huge deal. If it was you would not install mods or any theme as that could run code which could comprise the site.
