Hello SMF Hacks,

With Pretty URL's enabled, sending newsletters isn't working correct. In first instances the website isn't responding for a couple of seconds. After a couple of seconds there appears a white screen with URL: http://digiscrap.nl/admin/?area=news;sa=mailingsend

Only 51 newsletters are send (of 1781 total).

When PrettyURL's is disabled the newsletter mod is working correct again and all newsletters are send (1781 total).

Please any help on this...
Edit: no errors in the log (for this issue).

Thanks,
Vincent

Hello SMFHacks,

I know we need to disable "rewrite of actions" in PrettyURL's but we already enabled it and the search engines already crawled the links with /forum/ /store/ /downloads/ /gallery/ etc... so when I disable "rewriting of actions", all the links which are crawled by search engines are wrong (I tested this).

Could you please look at this or an colleague of you? Because we can't use the newsletter Pro mod (where we paid for) since we use PrettyURLs and that doesn't feel good. Please make these mods compatible with each other so we can send newsletters with "rewrite of actions" enabled in Pretty URLs.

If we need to pay you for this... please say so.

Our customers will definitely disappear from our store (some already did) when we're not sending our newsletters (we use your store mod too).

Thanks in advance and please take a look at it and fix this issue if possible....

The main issue I didn't create prettyurls originally so will take probably many hours to figure out what the issue and how to fix it.

You can try this file. Untested. I think it stops the processing of admin actions so it might help. Copy it to your sources folder for SMF 2.0

Okay, thanks! I'll try this.

But can't the 'original author' help you with this?

Test 1: send 117 newsletters from a List and this was working fine!!! All letters are send.

For Test 2, sending a 'big' newsletter to all members I need to prepare an second newsletter which I'll do later this week.

So, I'm partially happy now hehe...

thanks SMFHacks.

A bit late but we send our big newsletter today. It has still the same problem as before. I'm using PrettyURLs 1.0RC2a and newsletterpro 2.0.6a

After sending about 50 newsletters I see a white page....with a page url:
 index.php?action=admin;area=news;sa=mailingsend
- No errors in the log

I put "newspro, admin, news" in the Skip Actions List: (please see attachment)

When I disable prettyurls all 2057 newsletters are send correct.

Am I the only one with this issue?

Thanks for your help..

White page hard to tell what is going on. Skip actions should do it since the rewriter wouldn't be checking for those actions.
Next time modify your index.php in the root directory of your forum
Find
<?php
Add after
Code:
ini_set("display_errors",1);
And hopefully will say something other than the whitepage.

Picking up this 'problem' again.

Testing with SMF2.0.1 and Newsletter Pro 2.0.7

This issue still exists... and I hate to send 'test' newsletters to our members/customers. Tonight I'll try again with the code in the index.php..... I hope there appears an error.. otherwise... it's totally useless ... It won't be a interesting newsletter so it's not a big problem to send this to only a few customers.

And yes.. prettyurls is active and also 'rewrite actions' is on....

In the config of prettyurls I put "newspro, admin, news" in the Skip Actions List but this didn't change anything.

X my fingers....

Any ideas before I'll send it?

Damn... no error on the screen.... Only a white screen... The URL/PATH of this screen is:
http://xxxxxxx.nl/index.php?action=admin;area=news;sa=mailingsend

A strange issue... there's no 'counting' like it should do (and does when prettyurls is off). please see this image

.... but... I took this print when I tested, only with the admin accounts, which are selected to receive the letter... only 2 letters to send. With prettyurls enabled. Works fine...

I hope you can understand my 'story'... in my bad English.... and also find a solution, soon....

If you need any information, please ask..

About the amount of newsletters:

Kind regards,
Vincent

The only quick thing I can think of is the following put forum in maintenance mode turn off pretty urls send newsletter after newsletter completes turn on pretty urls get out of maintenance mode.

Thats the way I did it last year.... The main issue is that other members of our website are going to send the newsletter and I don't want to give them admin access to put the website on maintenance...

I see that moderators don't have access to Newsletter Pro (add newsletter) (when I enable it in the permissions)... could you please change that?
