i have made new categories one named "normal store" and another named "v.i.p. store" i added my vip membergroup to the permissions for that category and added all the other groups to the normal store. but for some reason the other membergroups can still access and purchase from the vip store. Is there a way to make it so only certain membergroups have permissions to even look inside the categories i have them assigned to? i thought this was a new feature but i  thought maybe it was just a bug.

You have to add category level permissions for each group on that category and set view to deny and that should fix it.
