how to update to latest version of smf classifieds, while preserving my edits?

i've done several edits to the language file, classifieds2.template.php and other files, how to do an update without over-writing my edits?

It will overwrite the edits you will need to make a backup of your edits.
Then use a tool such as beyond compare to merge the edits.

In the last update only classifiedsipn.php was changed.
