Does anyone have any idea how to go about making the existing Date of Birth field mandatory upon registration?

If I use a custom field (through the mod for that), it doesn't generate the age on the user's posts like I need it to (answers on my board sometimes need to be tailored to the age of the poster), so this is not really an option for me.

Any ideas?  I asked this on the SMF Board, but no one has provided an answer.

You can use this mod http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=638
for the profile posts and use the profile field mod to say: "please update age in your profile after registration"?

..also,i have used the profile field mod and it is visible in the profile posts. You better off using the profile field mod instead. (it is mandatory. If new user doesnt fill out the blanks,it will bring him back to the begining).

Bluedevil, does it automatically calculate the age in the profile if you use the custom profile mod to register the date of birth?

Quite frankly, I'm not sure why this seems so difficult.  Surely there's a flag somewhere that tells the system which entries are required, and it seems all you'd have to do is add the input field into the register template.   Undecided

Two places Themes/default/Register.template.php and Sources/Register.php

Check simplemachines.org I believe someone did that in the past.
