I'm having trouble getting the permissions set right.

I want one gallery, and all its sub gallerys to only be viewable to users in a certain member group, the rest of the gallerys to be viewable by everyone. I have it set to regular members and guests are denied permission to view the one that I don't want them in, and that members of the special group have permission but it is still giving everyone permission denied, even if they are in the group.

Any idea how i need to set things to make this work? I'm new to this just installed the software last night so I'm probably doing something wrong.

thanks!

There are two sets of permissions.

First global permissions. In order to be able to view the gallery. The group needs to have the View Gallery permission.

The other set is category level permissions which will make a category viewable /non viewable by a certain group.

Thanks, but I still can't get it to work. In global permissions I gave regular members the ability to view all gallerys. Then in the permissions for the gallery I want secret, I denied regular members, and gave the usergroup I want to have access permission. But it still won't let them view that section.

Never mind, I finally got it to work. Apparently it only pays attention to the primary member group, I changed everyones and now it works, I was used to the way hidden forums work where they just had to be a member.

Hmm, additional member groups. That might be something I should look into supporting.

Does this mean that membergroups other than the default membergroups are not supported in the permissions?

All membergroups are supported just not if you have them set as additional groups.
