I already have it set up to create a post when a user adds a picture, but it would be nice to be able to turn a comment into a post as well - is this doable?

Good idea should it be a reply to the picture topic posted?

Yes - that would be ideal.  But I would also like any comment on any picture to become a post (as long as I had that category pointing at a forum category).  I say that because, on my site, we were adding pictures before I started pointing them to forum categories - therefore there will be pics that are not posts - follow me?
