Members User ALbums

OK I may be a dumb bunny but I need this explained to me. How are User Albums set up in the first place and what categories are placed where

User Galleries are setup by having the user go to the MyGallery link inside the gallery.

well then it is my turn to ask a dummy dumbo question...


about the member galleries....when i made mine it showed no "user galleries" in the drop down menu for the parent. When another admin (right now it is admin only to get them aquainted with the workings to be able to help members later) made his it did the same thing and his sub albums were placed in his gallery...but the main album has no parent....we are orphans

NOw along come number 3 and he makes his gallery....has the parent in the drop down menu so while in admin panel we can see the user galleries section but as far as the admin section is concerened #3 is the only one listed not us yet we are all seen in the gallery section for member galleries.

the question why do we not have the parent part and how to delete our user gallery to try again?

User galleries are only listed if they have created a category in their gallery.

I did have my user album/sub albums too  as did the other admin yet only one of the admins shows in the list.

When I click the edit link for mine there is the drop down list to choose the parent as my user name but it only shows the album name for parent...I can't very well parent the album to itself sooo

maybe if I can delete my own album and try again it may behave...but I can't find out how to delete my user album unless going to the database and removing it there.

Ok I installed pro but my regular users do no have the option of adding a category or image to their personal gallery. Is there a setting for this somewhere that I am not seeing?

ok, so I just realized that I am not getting any of the pro setting in editing permissions. There is no option in the permissions to even allow a user to have a gallery and no member groups show up under category permissions list. This is kind of a pain.

This may occur if you had the lite edition installed and was not unistalled before installing the pro edition.
Attach your Sources/ManagePermissions.php and I can fix the issue.

I found the source of the problem. The permissions from light were still hanging out in that file. Now I have a new problem though I delete the "User Gallery" Category and would like to put it back but apparently there is more to it than just adding it.

You deleted the "Member Galleries" category? Or a specific user's gallery?

First check  Admin -> Gallery Configuration -> Settings
Make sure "Show user gallery category on gallery index" is checked



If the Gallery was really deleted and not just the setting change.
