How is the Time decided?
« on: October 23, 2007, 02:17:39 am »
When listing, the time of the listing is not the time that I listed it...

9 hours difference..

What is the classifieds using as the time stamp?

and how do i get it to show correctly?

Thanks

Hold that thought!

Though the listings are now showing the right time when looking at the bids the bidding times are wrong!

The times show

Well the time right now for today is 9.02am...

we're into the future now...  :-\

The time for the listings and bidding is based on the forum's time.  Does not take in account the offsets by the user's but goes by the default time on the forum.

That's what I mean..

the listing times are correct but when you look at  the bid history the time a bid was made is into the future..

so why is the listing time correct but the bid history time isn't if they both work off the same?

My forum is set to Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time

The forum posts show correct times by members

The forum Classifieds listing also show correct times of listings and end dates

but when you make a bid and then look at the bid history it shows the time well well into the future!

anyone else have this problem?

to me it seems the bid history page isn't translating the times correctly

The time is based on SMF's forum_time function
Which is defined as
Code: [Select]
// The current time with offset.
function forum_time($use_user_offset = true, $timestamp = null)
Inside the Classifieds it uses forum_time(false) mainly due to the fact that users can set their own time offsets which would cause the bidding times to be off it should still take the overall offset that the forum does but if the user has their own offset it will be ignored.
