What is the path that you are using for the Gallery?
Found under Gallery configuration.

I would need to see the path sometimes it is missing a \ at the end or sometimes it is the incorrect path if it moved.

Also if you have checked mutiple folders for storage the entire folder will need be writable so it can create other folders. If you can't do that uncheck that option

I've got the same issue, these are the paths taken from SMF

gallery path /home/fhlinux173/m/mmc.uk.com/user/htdocs/gallery/
gallery url http://www.mmc.uk.com/gallery/
forum url http://www.mmc.uk.com
SMF directory /home/fhlinux173/m/mmc.uk.com/user/htdocs
Sources directory /home/fhlinux173/m/mmc.uk.com/user/htdocs/Sources

it started going wrong when I went to gallery pro

Trying creating a file in the gallery folder
And hit save when changing the gallery path to
Code: [Select]
/home/fhlinux173/m/mmc.uk.com/user/htdocs/gallery/
