I used the package manager to install the gallery, everythign seems fine , the main button shows up for the configuration and everythig but I canfind the gallery? 

this is where i am at now:
Settings - Allows you to edit the important settings for your gallery.

Max allowed image height:
Max allowed image width:
Max image filesize:  (bytes)
Gallery Path: /home/.sites/99/site67/web/gallery/
Gallery Url: http://www.mjpspforums.ca/gallery/
Display who is viewing a picture
Warning Gallery path is not writable! /home/.sites/99/site67/web/gallery/  Allow the user to toggle if comments can be shown or a picture or not

I have went into the files on the admin panel of my own ftp and it shows a zip file in the packages folder and no where else does it show the gallery.  Any ideas?

Did you create the /gallery directory before you installed?  If you did, what did you set the permissions to?  Were there any error messages when you did the install?

No? Is there a online manual describing EXACTLY how to install this as I have read a few differetn things and cant seem to find an exact answer?  Thanks.  Appreciate it.  I cant set the permissions anywhere either. sorry for being a bother.

For custom theme's you need to a link/button to the gallery in the index.template.php of the theme.

The gallery itself is access using http://www.yourforum.com/index.php?action=gallery

I have read that as well, I found  the gallery now, but it is saying it is not writable, can not upload images and I am not sure exactly where to change the permssions as all i see is the zip file in my directory inside the packages folder?  urgh, what the heck am I doing wrong here?  Would Tiny Portal be an issue in this problem?

You would need to change the permissions for the gallery either in the control panel or via ftp to make sure it is writable to all.

This is the part that I am confused with, I dont have a gallery folder at all when i go into the admin panel using my ftp.  I just have the zip folder within the package folder.  Was I suppsed to create a folder myself prior to installing the gallery?

If you have the package copied to your packages folder. Then you can just install it via SMF. Inside SMF go to the Admin -> Then go to Packages to install it.
