An Error Has Occurred!
Although the package was downloaded to the server it appears to be empty. Please check the Packages directory, and the "temp" sub-directory are both writable. If you continue to experience this problem you should try extracting the package on your PC and uploading the extracted files into a subdirectory in your Packages directory and try again. For example, if the package was called shout.tar.gz you should:
1) Download the package to your local PC and extract it into files.
2) Using an FTP client create a new directory in your "Packages" folder, in this example you may call it "shout".
3) Upload all the files from the extracted package to this directory.
4) Go back to the package manager browse page and the package will be automatically found by SMF.

Note, I have ensured "Packages" is write inabled,(755) and also allowed index.php to be set to 755

I get the same reaction on 2.0rc1 and 2.0rc1-1.

Further Information:

When trying to follow the manual installation path, supplied at: http://www.smfhacks.com/smfstore/smfstoremanaulinstall.htm
I experience the following:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /forum/Packages/storeinstall.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.7a DAV/2 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.cowboylogic.net Port 80

This while I'm logged in to my control panel to ensure these folders and files have at least 755. all the way back to the forum folder. I even tried 777 briefly.

I guess I'm stuck now until I hear from you.

Make sure the temp fold exists in the packages folder and is writable the mod works best when installed with the package manager.

For SMF 2.0 if you are going to do a manual install you will need to copy storeinstall2.php to the root directory of your forum and then run it to install the database tables.

I've got SMFHacks.com set up as a package manager server, but can't find the store as an option to download.

...so I downloaded the mod to my workstation, then uploaded it to my beta site and my active site.

I created the temp (with a lower case t) folder under the Package folder, ensured that both folders were set to 755, and received the same error. I upped the anti again, and moved the folders to 777 permissions, and still no love. (fourm directory also set at 755)

I tried the manual route again and found I still don't have the correct rights:

Paid mods are not found in the package sever otherwise anyone could download them. You would need to grab the store download file either from this site or via the link in the email and upload and install it using the package manger's upload package option

Try uploading storeinstall2.php to the root directory of your forum and not the packages folder and make the permissions on the file are at least 755

Thanks for the suggestion, but still no love.

I copied storeinstall2.php to my forum root, checked to make sure it was 755. Tried the upload to package manager again with no luck, then tried simply running the install by hitting: http://www.cowboylogic.net/forum/storeinstall2.php

This produces a blank page with no error messages.

(Note: when this failed, I copied the rest of the store folders and files to the form root as well with the same results.)

The install script just installs the database tables and will not show any other output.

The store be able to work after the manual editing of the SMF files and with the database tables created.

Other idea for the package manager is upload the zip file to your packages folder and attempt to goto the package and install the package.

Thanks I hadn't tried hitting the Zip file with the package manager. I'll give that a shot.

That was the trick. Thanks.
It puzzles me, but uploading the zip file instead of the expanded directory broke the log jam and installed perfectly.
(Note: I installed while using the default theme, then switch back to my theme once done and the config platform is all set up and ready for my action, in the admin.)

Now I can get busy populating the store.

Much appreciated.
