I want to allow forum users to receive a weekly roundup email of created topics and/or recent posts. I want this to be automated if possible. Is this possible with this plugin?

Not currently built into Newsletter Pro but would be a good feature request

Good idea:

A block with the newest topics/posts, maybe a block with featured (hot) topics...or something like this.

Is this integrated now?

No I believe there is a digest option built into SMF 2.0
