SMF version 1.11. default theme
The ads not showing up when  ads are added with custom codes.(Admin Manage Ads -Add Ad)

I went back to the adds through (manage add - Edit) - I see lot of // backward slashes added into the code .

Sample:
<script type=\\\"text/javascript\\\"><!--
google_ad_client = \\\"pub-121111111111\\\";
/* 728x90, created 4/25/10 */
google_ad_slot = \\\"1010234555\\\";
google_ad_width = 728;
google_ad_height = 90;
//-->

I deleted the codes and repasted fresh- correct codes several times.
But the slashes are coming up automatically- thereby ads are not showing

Text ads and banner ads are working
