Different ads to be viewed by different membergroups?
« on: January 20, 2011, 03:32:22 am »
Hi,
Can I have different ads to be viewed by different membergroups?
For example -
ad1 /top/ can be seen in groups 1, 4 and 5
ad 2 /bottom/  can be seen - group 1 and 3
ad 3 /left tower/  can be seen - group 2, 4 and 5
ad 5 /first post/  can be seen - group 5

Will I have some problems with uninstalling Ad Managment before installing Ad Seller Pro?

Yes you have control over ad locations for membergroups can set which membergroup can view which ad location

Suggest to uinstall mods in order of last installed to avoid issues.

And more - i need some custom locations - can u help me if i buy Ad Seller pro:
Custom locations can easily be made since the system generates the php code used to show an ad location

For custom code ad placements you could see views but not clicks.

Uau, you suggest me to uninstall any mods that I put after the installation of Ad managment mod to uninstall it correctly?
It's very hard for me. Even I'm not sure what I have installed before and what after ...

Is it not enough to remove manually changes made to the files: ManagePermissions.php, MessageIndex.template.php, Display.template.php, BoardIndex.template.php, index.template.php, Subs.php and index.php ?

In that case I would use package manager to uninstall ad management.
Note any of the files/tests that fail on uninstall then uninstall those areas manually.

Ok, thanks. Everything is clear now.
I need a several more days to think through and I guess I'll buy Ad Seller Pro, and maybe SMF Classifieds.
Can I count on support for ad placement, as shown in the first screenshot? I'm not sure I know exactly how to find the place between 4 and 5 or 5 and 6 theme in php code on default theme. I'm sure, this will not be a problem for you?

Last Question - is there a standart option like in ad managment - Ads within posts look like actual posts?
What I mean - see the second post in the attached screenshot.
I need the same type of advertising between the posts.

You can have ad's after the first post or inside the first post. Or after the last post in a topic.

But they will not look like a post instead will be an extra row etc. You can still accomplish that by modifying the template code if needed.

This is a problem. I definitely have better results and I would like to be so styled.

Ok, in this case - again question:
Can I set which membergroup can view which ad location, if ad locations are not standard? If they are custom introduced in the php code?

Yes when you add a new custom location you can setup membergroup permissions
