gigya2.php error
« on: February 15, 2011, 12:03:25 pm »
Hello.

I just bought the Social Login Pro mod, but it seems like there is a problem with one or more files.
I have installed the mod correctly, and I have also entered security key and the API key into the settings in the admin panel.

I tried to login via facebook, when I get the message in the popup "Thank you, the window will now be closed". Directly after this, I get the following error on my screen:

Forbidden (403)
You don't have permission to access /community/gigya2.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have tried to reinstall and to redownload-upload-install, but none of these worked. I even tried different chmods (permissions), including 777, but this didn't help either.

What could be wrong? I would be glad to receive for some advice.

Thank you in advance.

This is a permission issue on gigya2.php try to change the permissions to 755 of gigya2.php in the root directory of your forum and see if that helps

I tried to chmod the file to 755, but this did not help. Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks.

Try other file permissions such as 644 and see if you can get one that works right.

Hi.

First of all, thank you for your quick replies!

I tried about 10-15 different permissions, none of these worked... Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks.

Hmm try anything that does not include a 7 or try to have it match your other files permission wise.

If not check your forums error log for any related errors or your apache error log.

I tried another 4 or 5 combinations of chmod with no "7", but with no improvement. (All my files have either 644 or 755, I tried them both before). The forum error log is completely empty. This is what I got from the apache error log (after some word censoring of site name and my IP):

Please advice me if you need to wish to have look at one of more files, so I can attach them in my next reply.

Thank you in advance.

PS: The errors shown in the logs, occured when trying to login after each chmod change I made.

Tracked it down looks like a mod_security issue or some other security request check

It's sees the data passed back from facebook/twitter and some parameters contain http://
Example:
thumbnailURL=http://

And on those parameters with http it triggers the 403 error. If possible disable mod_security for that site/area on the site to fix.

Only solution is if you have mod_security is ask the host to disable it.  Otherwise I would need to make a proxy script and have it post to my site then back to your site.

Disabling mod security may have effect on other mods. Don't you think so?

Nope not what I have seen. mod_security is a webserver level setting and generally I believe it is overkill and blocks and hurts a lot of useful apps.

Ok. Thanks. I will investigate the mod and see if I encounter any issue. Although, I am on VPS.
