I am setting up a new gallery for a guest photographer of the month and I don't want any of his images to be visible until the official gallery launch date. So I have disabled access to all member groups for the time being so that the gallery is not visible.
The problem is that there are some serious bugs related to the Most Recent Picture window:
1 - When an images is uploaded, even if the gallery it is uploaded to is disabled from member view using permissions, the image still shows as a recent image and everyone can see the image then, including even unregistered forum guests.
2 - All pictures uploaded using the bulk upload feature should have a way to disable them from appearing in the most recent image area as well.
Until at least the first issue is resolved there is now way I can upload any images and prevent people from seeing them.
Please kindly make this a priority.

Just tested it and it works. It prevents people getting access to the image, but the thumbnail still shows in the Most Recent Picture plugin as a thumbnail. Can you block the thumbnail as well? It would be best if prohibited users can not see at all, especially if it is in a locked gallery. It could be nude or other content which should not show to public users at all. Many thanks.

1 - So how can we prevent thumbnails of new photo posts from being visible by a specific member group within the Most Recent Pictures plug-in window when a picture is added to a particular Category which that member group is denied access to?
2 - Also, can a "List All" link be added to this plug-in window so that members can see a list of all the Most Recent pictures and not just the 4 thumbnails showing in the plug-in window?

I am little confused for #1 is that recent pictures on board index or a different mod. The recent images on board index adds text lines under recent posts and does not display any images/pictures just the text.

Sorry if I am confusing you. For both 1 & 2 I am referring to the addon you just updated that you mentioned earlier in this post which puts 4 thumbnail photos on the board index and every other page of the forum also to show the 4 most recent pictures added to the gallery. It should not show thumbnails of new pictures added to galleries with denied access. It would also be nice to have a "List All" quick link in the window of this addon.

Thanks. I put in both addons now. The second one I did not have installed before. Anyway, nothing has changed on my site. I am attaching a screen shot of a guest user view of the main page of the forum. I don't see any "List All" link function in the Recent Pictures box. Also, the thumbnail you see for the Test Image should not be visible by guest users because they have been denied all capabilities to the Category where that image was posted.  |
