Another question please.
I have the main gallery set to view images only. That is, only admin can upload images. Is there any way to disable the roll over add picture or better still not show the option at all, when users try to upload pics. It does confuse them.

Or is there a way to disable the Main Gallery option altogether and just have user galleries?

What page is the add picture link on? Let me know the exact page in the url and can check if permissions are checked right.

I'm not sure if I've explained it properly so find attached some screen grabs. I've renamed the 'main' gallery KPS Gallery. The user John Doe has permissions in the membergroup 'gallery group' to onlyview the KPS Gallery ... yet the add picture options are live, though it cannot be pursued to completion as no category can be created!

Do you want to disable users from uploading any pictures either the main gallery or user galleries?

Or do you just want to have them be able to upload to their own gallery.

Only to their own gallery.

Posted an update to hide the add picture/bulk upload picture links from users with no category permissions.
Not changing the behavior of the main menu add picture tab since that can used to add personal gallery images.

4.0.2
!Hide the addpicture/bulk upload links on category view if permissions do not allow it.

Did that. It made no difference I can see. Is there no way to just do away with the main gallery and have users galleries only?

You can delete all main categories and just have the members gallery category for the same affect.
