Hi,

How do I create a new ad location on the left side under the user login but above the menu buttons as show by the red arrow in the attachment?

Thanks,

Edited to add:

I should have asked were do I put the code that I get when creating a new ad location?
I already know how to create a new location so I get the code. Just not sure where to put the code now.

thanks again,

As I was looking were to place the code in the template I seen you already had a location for 'Welcome Area/User Information Box'.

Keep up the good work!

I took the plunge and decided to monetize my forum. I use a custom theme and I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out exactly where to place the php code for ad locations. for example, I've been searching for the location to place the code for the "after first post" ad, got the code just don't know where to put it. Do you have a cheat sheet to tell us custom theme guys where to place the code for each of your ad locations?

I started with your free download as you'll see if you visit my forum. So far the only Ad Pro location I've been able to figure out is the footer. Please advise...Thanks!

here's my forum address http://www.fattokinny.net

Forum url is not working for me is that correct address?

What SMF version?

For custom themes what I recommend to do is upload the package to the package parser
http://www.smfhacks.com/smf-package-parser.html
And then do just the theme edits to your custom theme.

With SMF 1.1.x requires some manual edits to your custom theme.

Proceed with Step 2
For custom themes what I recommend to do is upload the package to the package parser
http://www.smfhacks.com/smf-package-parser.html
And then do just the theme edits to your custom theme.

You're talking french to me, not a programmer, making my way through. When I do the edits to the theme how do I find the locations for the code?

The package parser link above tells what files needs to be edited and where.

It's asking me to check either "show all edits or Show theme edits" Which one?

Do I need to uninstall the package from the forum prior to doing this?

All right I see that a manual install is the answer to resolving automation, should I uninstall the package from the forum prior o manually installing it to my theme index

I was moving right along until I reached the changes required in my Display.template.php. I have no Display.template.php file in my themes directory. Please advise

If the file doesn't exist you don't have to do anything since it would use the default theme in that case.

Everything is working fine after the Parse instructions except the click count on ads.

I have the log every click box checked in the settings menu but all the ads show clicks "NA" on the manage ads board

Am I missing a setting?

What type of ad are you using? Is custom code if so it can't count clicks.
We can count clicks for built in text links or the built banner system.
