Users earn badges automatically by completing certain tasks such as posting milestones such as 1 post, 1000 posts, 5000 posts etc. Members also earn badges for completing different actions such as adding an avatar, signature, searching, uploading pictures etc. They can also earn level badges by earning a certain amount of badges for each level. What the Badge Awards system does is increase user engagement in the forums and takes advantage of the new gamification trends that are happening online.

Badge Awards is expandable allowing you to include your own custom badges and works for both SMF 1.1.x and SMF 2.0.x
