If you write a comment on a picture and hit Save, than the german Umlauts are wrong

I mean what version of SMF such as SMF 2.0, SMF 1.1.x


Also check that you smf_gallery_comment table is set to utf8 for the collation that is required for support for those characters.

I mean the gallery text note, not the comment

smf_gallery_pic_tagging = latin1_german2_ci

The whole forum is set to  latin1_german2_ci

I converted now the table with

ALTER TABLE `smf_gallery_pic_tagging` CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;

still not working.
