File Format
« on: April 07, 2013, 09:10:21 pm »
I am running an older version of SMF Gallery Lite (3.1.4)  - at least I think it's an older version. I've never updated it.

Is there something I can change to allow people to upload a .zip file rather than a picture?  The reason I ask is, we are a graphic group and many of us have PaintShop Pro brushes to share, background tiles, and other such goodies.  They would have to be zipped and of course, no picture would show but they can put a description on the upload page.

Is this a possibility?

I did not have the zip function built in SMF Gallery lite it is in SMF Gallery Pro but it only accepts the normal picture files.

If you need something other than jpg,gif,png I have a download system which has both free and lite version that accepts all files.

Thank you for the fast reply!!    I don't need a .zip function in the gallery, I just need it to accept a zip file that is being uploaded like it does a picture.

What is a download system?  I'm pretty much a novice so probably need more details. Does it run within the SMF board?  I have version 1.1.8.  We currently use the gallery to add graphics that we want to share with other members.  It's not open to the public unless they are a member of our forum.  My  forum  is at http://pirc-forum.com  .  If you think this download lite system might be what I need, I'm willing to try it.

Okay, I downloaded it, installed it. All went well.  Checked various options and just accepted them as they are since I have no idea what they all do at the moment.

Now, my question is, where do I find it?  My Gallery has a button on the menu but how do I find this download area?  It looks interesting and just may be the answer to my problems.  Thanks for the suggestion.

That didn't happen.  If I remember right, the Gallery button didn't work either and someone fixed it for me.  I have a problem with each mod that adds a button.  If you can tell me how to fix it, I can try.  I"m not adept at doing things like that but I'll give it my best shot.

Can someone please tell me, in little steps, how to get the button to appear on the menu bar?? I would greatly appreciate it.

Attach your theme's index.template.php file.

There were two of them, one had a little ~ at the end of the name.  I THINK that means it's a backup of the current one.  anyway, here is the one for my default theme

Updated code here
Code: [Select]
<?php
// Version: 1.1; index

/* This template is, perhaps, the most important template in the theme. It
contains the main template layer that displays the header and footer of
the forum, namely with main_above and main_below. It also contains the
menu sub template, which appropriately displays the menu; the init sub
template, which is there to set the theme up; (init can be missing.) and
the linktree sub template, which sorts out the link tree.

The init sub template should load any data and set any hardcoded options.

The main_above sub template is what is shown above the main content, and
should contain anything that should be shown up there.

The main_below sub template, conversely, is shown after the main content.
It should probably contain the copyright statement and some other things.

The linktree sub template should display the link tree, using the data
in the $context['linktree'] variable.

The menu sub template should display all the relevant buttons the user
wants and or needs.
