PHP Strict Standards: In Error Log
« on: June 02, 2013, 07:43:59 am »
I'm getting the following errors in the Error Log from the Menu_Pro

Quote
[01-Jun-2013 23:07:12] PHP Strict Standards:  Only variables should be passed by reference in /.../Sources/menu-editor-pro/resources/integrate.php on line 132

The other lines, for the same warning are:

132, 169, 183 and 185

Yeah, this has been discovered a couple of times. Thanks for posting!

Strict standards aren't typically displayed on production environments, however, I'll be fixing this in 1.1 which should be out relatively soon.

I have a resolved package, I need to test it and verify that it resolves these issues and then I can release it. Can you verify for me what version of PHP you are running?

Yes. The problem occurs when trying to access Ajax Chat integrated with SMF 2.0.11.
Ajax Chat https://frug.github.io/AJAX-Chat

Ajax Chat is outside SMF. Anyone using Ajax Chat integrated with SMF will have the same problem.

Menu Editor Lite does not interfere with the Chat, hence the purchase of Menu Editor Pro.

Hey there,

Yes. I just purchased and installed the package today. I'm getting these errors left, right, and centre, *and* because of error settings in SSI.php, modifying php.ini to have ~E_STRICT in error_reporting doesn't sort the problem on its own. I had to do that and temporarily disable the ssi_error_reporting line in SSI.php.

The downloaded mod package claims it's 1.0.0, so I'm guessing there's a newer, fixed version. I used the account-less purchase option originally, so there's no fresh download available here on these forums for me. I checked the "Licenses" section of this forum and it has a way to add licenses, but the e-mail I was sent doesn't include a license key, just a link, and the drop-down menu doesn't include Menu Editor Pro as a product.

Can you help me? Thanks!

Already contacted the admin to have you placed in the proper group. Can you PM me a link to your website, admin login, and FTP details and I'll fix the error for you?
