No, the importer imported 85% of the files correctly the exceptions were where the image was corrupted and these were all deleted. Could the upgrade of SMF from 1.nn to 2.09 have corrupted the table entries?

So, my only solution is to manually add the extension in all those data tables?

Hmm, there's a lot of them. Is there a way to add the extension to all affected files using a SQL Query?

You can find them by SELECT * from smf_gallery_pic where filename like "%."

The only issue with changing the extension is you don't know what the extension orginally was you can guess/assume jpg or png.

Thanks, I ran a SQL query to detect filenames without extensions and add jpeg after the dot. That worked although half of the files imported from Aeva didn't have extensions either so I ran a shell script to add .jpeg to them. That has restored 90% of the images. I can deal with the rest by exception.

I think I have discovered another issue.  A large number of galleries have paths like 'albums/album name/Dir 2/image.jpg

These seem to be the old Aeva gallery files. I'm copying the files over as there was no albums directory in the gallery folder. Is this normal or are all SMF Gallery Pro images in the gallery folder with no path?

Edit, just realised this won't work as the Aeva gallery files are in a format with no extension. Help!

I was going to say copy the albums folder to your gallery folder and that should help.

That's the weird thing. The import script created the folders and a load of entries in the database but no files. The only backup I've got is the original Aeva Gallery files.

Is there a way of simply converting the Aeva Gallery images to simple images and then importing them manually?

A script would need to be written for that.

I did try renaming an Aeva file with a jpeg extension and importing it. The file looks OK in an image editor but, when I import that picture to SMF Gallery it shows as corrupted.

Who could write that script? Currently we have a whole album from our club's centenary year that no one can see.
