Uploading GIF with animation loses animation
« on: November 26, 2014, 12:55:40 am »
Hello, when I upload a GIF containing an animation, it loses its animation properties. Is this normal and if so, how can I fix it?

Seems to be working fine on your website, SMFHacks:

How come not on mine?

If the image gets resized yes that is normal.

It does get resized. Is it possible to write a code that omits resizing it if the file name contains .gif?

Yes it is possible but i can't tell if is animated gif or not easily.

I might be able to resize with animation going to require different code though but maybe possible.

Yeah, that's fine. For me, they get resized to 90 percent the original. It may be problematic for other webmasters though...

Looking forward to the implementation.

Idea! Is there a way otherwise using php to detect animated images?

I would need to do research/experiments to know more on that part.
