paying without paypal from abroad??

We decided to get the Pro version. Our host fits all requirement, so I started buying it. Goes to the page where it gives the option to pay also by credit card without using Paypal.  Great.

So I fill the country (Czech Republic),  and the page start reloading and suddenly it wants me to create a paypal account or at least write and confirm a (any?) password. It then states that I automatically agree that Paypal gives my information to whoever they want?

Expressly instruct PayPal to communicate specific information about you and your account to third parties per the Privacy Policy.
Specifically and expressly consent to the use of website tracking methods, including cookies, and to the safe and secure transmission of your personal information outside the European Union (including to the USA) in accordance with Privacy Policy.

 

I could not find an opt-out. Is this a normal behavior of that specific online payment page or paypal?

Sorry, but no way for a simple payment am I going to allow this to PayPal. Any suggestions?

You shouldn't have to create a paypal account that part is optionally just skip that step.
We only accept paypal at this time.

Thanks for the quick reply. Not sure I can skip that step. Even without filling the passwords, it still wants me to agree with the lack of privacy policy, and that is the step I do not like

I have a way around it, but maybe other people do not and also do not want to comply with this.

I now found out that our other non-profit website tries a same thing under our donation button (to paypal). That's "new" (at least, I have not checked it quite long). A third site, specially for our museum, is linked to the same paypal account. However, there I can still pay with credit card without that nonsense. So I donated $ 50 to our account, and now can pay you directly through Paypal. Still, its annoying that it does that, I have to repair it on our own site (copy the good button code to the other site).

Ok, thanks for the offer about amazon, don't need it. I managed to transfer the funds and download the program and found the email in my spam folder.

Bit off-topic, but should I uninstall gallery lite before installing pro or does it overwrite the lite version automatically?

Yes you should uninstall SMF Gallery Lite then install SMF Gallery Pro. Uninstalling does not delete any data or pictures.

Installed, registered the license, gallery looks ok.

Its off to bed for me (nearing midnight here), too tired to do anything with it anymore today (we have two grandkids here tonight, hard work).
