Stacking ads down the right side
« on: February 25, 2017, 10:06:11 am »
When I setup multiple ads and set them to be imprinted on the right side, I'm only getting one ad per page. Each refresh cycles the ad. Is there a way to have multiple ads stacked down the right side?

Yes there is.
What ad location are you using?

Right now I'm using   Right Side of the Forum .  I see one ad on the right and it will cycle with the other ads on refresh. I'm also having some issues even getting some images to display. One thing at a time though.

Attach your themes index.template.php

How many ads max do you want to show on the right side?

Looks great. Thank you!

I found my image problem but not sure how to resolve it.  I have this site hosted as a subdomain and it appears any images in the subdomain folders are not accessible by SMF or this mod. If I move the images to the primary hosted domain on this server they are accessible.

I do not think it is an issue with SMF or the mod, but if you have any ideas I'd be grateful.

Thanks again for the edit.

Accessible meaning you can't view them? I would need to see an example.

Yeah, sorry, I have limits on the correct terminology.

Here is an example image.

http://www.harleytechtalk.com/ads/test3.jpg

You can view it with no problem. But if that is the web address I give for the ad image, it will not load at all. If I move the image up one level so it's just under _public_html  it will load find from SMF.

My private server is structured so the primary domain is harleytechtalk.org. When I add subdomains, like the dot com, it puts them in a folder under public_html.

Not sure if that makes any sense or not.

Files if you want them to be viewable from the web generally have to be in the public_htmll folder

Sometimes you can have subdomain under public_html such as
public_html/subdomainname/

Then you can either do http://www.harleytechtalk.com/subdomainname/test3.jpg
Or
http://subdomainname.harleytechtalk.com/test3.jpg

To view the file/image normally.

Funny thing is if I create a folder called      ads     and put it under the Sources  folder and then adjust the directory paths in the Add Pro setup it all works fine.  Has to be some sort of permissions issue but all the folder permissions look ok to me. IDK.

It's working though. Appreciate your help

Noticed an issue today. When the window size is down we are seeing a formatting issue come up. Some browsers may be worse than others although I'm seeing this on Fire Fox.

This goes away if I expand my window far enough. It also is no issue what so ever if I turn off the ads being displayed.  Ads are on the right side only, 150 x 275

Added. I did some more testing. This issue goes on anytime the available window drops where it hits a fixed width item on any post. That could be an image or as shown above, a dialog box. If the ads are turned off, this issue goes away completely.

Thanks for looking
