Restoring a deleted photo
« on: June 20, 2023, 03:40:17 pm »
Hello, I am asking you to implement the Recycle Bin function so that the administrator can restore a deleted photo. The idea is that each deleted photo will go to the Recycle Bin, from which it can be restored to the gallery. Such a function exists in SMF, the administrator can create a Recycle Bin board and deleted posts can go there.

Little tricky to do currently, have to think about restoring to gallery. Hiding recylced items from public.

Hmmm new idea. I backup the entry in the pictures  database table to a recycle table. Delete the original picture database table.
Then have an area to view them. I think it is doable now.

Sounds interesting. Will you implement this feature for testing?

This is just an idea for now, have you already checked that it can work this way?

I see, I hope you'll check it out when you find the time. I'm looking forward to this feature. I don't want to prevent users from deleting photos, but I want to have the ability to restore a photo when needed. :)

10.2
+Added option to recycle images instead of deleting them. Under Gallery Settings -> Enable recycle bin instead of deleting media items

Thank you so much for creating this feature! You kept your word: you said you’d check it out, and you did. You found a solution and implemented the new feature, actually, two of my suggestions! Thank you very much for your kindness.

I think this warning should not appear when the recycle bin feature is enabled:

Warning this will delete the selected item and you can not restore it.

Although now it seems to me that this warning, however, should remain, because the user can not restore his photo after deletion, only the Administrator can do so.
