Hi!
At some point it would be awesome if the Badge Awards would alert when a new badge is given. I did have another badges system in 2.0.x and that was being triggered, but not 2.1.1's stock alerts of course...

That's weird cause I get alert for new badges on my 2.1.1 forum! :o

Maybe something is turned off... I'll go poke around.

See admin settings for Badge Awards and check "Send pm on new award" option.

I did just that at 7am this morning... I asked folks to report if they get an alert.
At 7:50 an alert came in (i can see so on the main page) and the user responded that he did NOT get an alert.
Is there something that has to be set within each persons profile as well or just that one universal setting on the bages mod admin page?
Also, why would it say PM and not alert?

OK...well, setting PM does just that... it sends a PM.
Testing, I got the PM... but no alert (except the alert of the pm of course).
We're not looking for PM's to be sent... just an alert.

I just did my first smf 2.1 alerts code with awesome post ratings so would be a good feature request for badge awards.

Yes, it would be a great add-on. While badge text alerts would be cool... I really like how SMF implements a little like graphic on the users avatar for the official SMF LIKE (for example)... that would be cool to do for both the ratings and badges... show the rating and the badge (doesn't have to be superimposed on the users avatar, but that would be cool too). I am not sure how the rating alerts yet as I've not installed the new version yet but just taking a cursory look it appears it may be text only...
