Title: Setting a single free download.
Post by: Zaphod on August 05, 2022, 06:39:44 am
Hi all hope everyone is well and happy, I am using download pro Version 6.1.2 running on SMF 2.0.19 and PHP 7.4, My default cost for downloads is 1 credit, but I want to be able to have a couple of downloads for free but am unable to achieve this. I have tried setting 0 but it still charges one credit. I know I can set them to free in default and change each download to charge a credit but my downloads database is massive and most are credit earned with just a few for free (when I can get around this). Is there a means to achieve other than having default cost of zero and individually charging one credit for chargeable downloads?

I also have another caveat being if I use FTP to upload files (generally have to as average is 230+MB some over 1GB) when I add thumbnail pictures they don't show in the entry once it's saved. I then have to edit the entry where I can then choose the thumbnail and make it primary and that is a pain. I can live with this but would rather not as I tend to upload 10+ files at a time.

Sorry for double issue request can do a separate single if you require that.

Other than the above I love the download system it does exactly what it says on the "tin".

Many thanks in advance.

Can you take a picture of your credit system settings.

So the download is imported via Admin -> Downloads Configuration  -> FTP
When/how is the thumbnail added?

Sorry for delay in response I went away with family for a couple of days (no phone no tablets etc.)

Can you take a picture of your credit system settings.

After the files are imported via FTP they import and then I edit each new downloads title from "filename.ext" to a meaningful tile like "Raid on Entebbe V1.0" Then I select the image used for thumbnail and save.  Once that is complete the thumbnail doesn't display I then click edit download and then have to click make primary and save, it's then the thumbnail will display. It's no biggie but if I can edit just once that would be great.

Please find two screenshots of the credit system settings.

Thank you for your time.

Haven't been able to recreate the ftp issue. I upload the file via ftp, import it the ftp area in the admin area.
Edit the download then add a picture. For me the picture is automatically added as primary.

Ok thanks, Previously I used SmfPacks media gallery pro and had similar things happen, didn't get very far with support and after I found out SMF Gallery pro supported MP3 I switched. I have been informed by a friend that the Brave browser does odd things like this so I will try FireFox and see if that is the case, if not I can live with it.
