Title: Gallery error message
Post by: KEA on January 31, 2008, 02:48:25 pm
I have this message appearing at the top of my gallery and am lost as to why or how to fix it.

Warning Gallery path is not writable! home/kallen/www/gallery

ALL of the gallery folders have permission selected to 777.  Our server is unavailable for input so I am trying to figure this out on my own with no luck.

What makes it worse, I dont know enough to be even slightly dangerous, which is realy dangerous :)

I can navigate to places on my Cpanel but as far as looking at Code or changing it I am lost.

Suggestions?

PS:  Where and how do I register our version of the Gallery Pro ?

First is home/kallen/www/gallery the correct path to the gallery?
I would try changing it to /kallen/www/gallery/

Also to upgrade your account click on the license button near the top of the forum

Turns out the path was missing "/" before the word home.

Now that is fixed but I have another problem.  When trying to make a catagory in the gallery I get this error message.

Warning Gallery Category Image Path is not writable! /home/kallen/www/gallerycatimgs

I assume I need a "/" placed after the word gallery but I have absolutly know idea how to do that and the server says he does not support this software.

Any advice on how to fix this is appreciated greatly.

Thanks
Kirk

Fixed with a backslash ( / )  added to the end of the original path in question.

Egads.... I am having this issue as well.  Just installed and it was working just fine.  Uploaded 3 pics, flawlessly.
Now I am getting the dreaded message of:
Warning Gallery path is not writable! /home/public_html/forum/gallery/

I have chimoded through my file manager, and the gallery directory is set to 777
Here is my gallery path:
/home/public_html/forum/gallery/

site:  http://weathernut.net/forum/index.php?
What the heck is goin on?
What am I missing?

Notes....  I have scoured your forums and found several topics with this same issue.  I have tried to delete the gallery folder and it will not let me.  I cannot change the permissions in the catimgs folder.
I need some help.  Nothing you folks have suggested is working!!!
