Title: Some Questions
Post by: genieuk on November 07, 2008, 07:51:31 pm
Hi,

I have tried several gallery mods including bridging and most of them have to many bugs etc.

I am currently using SMF lite and want to know the following:

How much is update renewal each year?

Does it support embedding video ?

Can members upload video and audio?

if yes what video / audio formats are supported?

Can members create albums and choose to display to other members or make private unless they give password to other members?

Does it support sub-albums?

Can members add a picture to a post direct from the gallery?

This is more of a feature request, option to be able to send a picture as an eCard to people via email

The demo site is down is there a working demo elsewhere so i can have a loot at it?

I see from other people that there is a video addon or something as it not part of default gallery pro which is dissapointing but i cannot find a link to the addon anywhere?

If i have problems or need assistance in installing incase of problems will i have to pay?

Thank you,
Mathew

How much is update renewal each year?
$25 per year.

Does it support embedding video ?
With the video addon it can embed youtube and google video links currently. The video addon allows you to upload videos in many of the popular formats.

Can members upload video and audio?
With the Videon Addon they could upload video files

if yes what video / audio formats are supported?
Does not support audio. Video formats supported: avi, flv, mov, mpg, ram,rm,rpm, wmv
and Supports YouTube and Google Video Links

Can members create albums and choose to display to other members or make private unless they give password to other members?
Yes they can do both. Either private galleries where they can invite members. Or they can make their gallery password protected.

Does it support sub-albums?
Yes it does unlimited sub categories

Can members add a picture to a post direct from the gallery?
They can either take the linking code from the picture itself if you have bbc/html linking codes enabled. The gallery also has the option to autopost a new topic with the gallery picture in a forum of your choice by gallery category

This is more of a feature request, option to be able to send a picture as an eCard to people via email
You can place that request in the feature request forum. I check the feature request forum for ideas for the next release.

The demo site is down is there a working demo elsewhere so i can have a loot at it?
Fixed the demo site

I see from other people that there is a video addon or something as it not part of default gallery pro which is dissapointing but i cannot find a link to the addon anywhere?

If i have problems or need assistance in installing incase of problems will i have to pay?

Thanks for your reply.

One more thing.

When a member creates an album where does it show ? i mean to themselves and other members, how would other members access another members album if made public to other members?

Thank you,
Mathew

There is a category that is shown on the main category index called "Member Galleries" inside there are all the personal galleries that members have created

With the Video Add On does it just upload to the Gallery the person selects?  I'm looking to purchase this so members can upload video to the forum.  I can already upload and imbed video from YouTube to the forum is it not any different?
