Title: Add Download: URL vs File
Post by: ApplianceJunk on June 09, 2009, 04:04:09 pm
Thanks for all the answers to my other questions about download pro.

I have one more question.

I will be uploading some service manuals as files and others using the URL from the appliance manufactures website.

Could I set it up so the downloads I add using "URL" have unlimited download by members and guest, but set limits on downloads I have added using "File".

Limits I was thinking of setting for "File" type uploads would be a limit of say three downloads a day or limit them to a special member group.

I always thought your free download system was awesome and first started using it at our ApplianceJunk.com site.

There were just a few minnor things that did not work out for us (can't even think of what they were now), but it looks like everyting should work great now and I'm looking at building a site at ApplianceWiki.com that will more or less depend on your download mod, thanks!

Currently there is no built feature to allow linked files to bypass the downloads per day or membergroup level settings might be able to add it though.
