Title: Import from Aeva Media
Post by: clothahump on January 12, 2010, 04:53:14 am
I am seriously considering Gallery Pro but is there a way to import images from Aeva Media, I have just about had enough of it failing and not doing what I require.

We do not have a converter yet but plan to make one in the future.

Does not cost anything after 12 months unless you want to get the latest updates. Which then would be a renewal fee of $25 to get the latest updates which can be done at any time.

I have the converter completed requires you to to have Aeva installed. Then will import pictures/comments,categories,ratings over to SMF Gallery Pro.
Uses a clean install of SMF Gallery Pro to import the settings over.

Unable to uninstall aeva, install of Pro gave warning
Code: [Select]
2: opendir(/home/tropical/public_html/Packages/temp/gallery) [<a href='function.opendir'>function.opendir</a>]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory
File: /home/tropical/public_html/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 1253
created gallery folder and install completed.

Import of images failed http://www.tropicalfishforums.co.uk/index.php?action=gallery

You need to keep avea installed in order to import. Did you get any errors while importing?

Download GalleryPro.zip and extract it and copy the gallery folder from the zip folder to the root directory of your website. Next be sure that permissions on the gallery  folder are at least 755

I can't see anything on that page since it is not open to guests though

Only error I got was the following, uploaded gallery manually, there are some images there but I think the importer stalled, could it be my connection?

Code: [Select]
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/tropical/public_html/aveaimport.php on line 1210
Processing: 206

Just run the importer again and got the following errors.

Witnessed this one three times.
Code: [Select]
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/tropical/public_html/aveaimport.php on line 1210
Failed here.
Code: [Select]

Ran the convertor without issue and was able to import everything without errors.

The warning on 1120 is safe to ignore since it deals with EXIF data on the picture

Category level permissions are not imported.

Gallery Pro has two levels of permissions global permissions and category level permissions. Category level permissions would  only be used if you want to deny someone access to a category.

Image problem when setting category thumb, it seems to convert the image to a partial negative as shown below.

I tested on my test RC4 forum and was not able to recreate the issue.

What I did was upload the attached file then used the set category thumbnail feature on the view picture page.

Is the file attached the original file?

That picture worked on my test site.

Other options. Try editing the category and upload the picture though that interface.

If the same issue occurs there is also support on the edit category page to use a remote picture file url.
