Another quick question. ;D Pardon me if this bug has been addressed in the Beta.
When using the category permissions option, how is the permission determined? For instance, our board has about 30 different membergroups. When trying to allow access to a certain category for the group titled "official members" I found that some people could not access it if they were also part of other membergroups.
I only want to allow ONE membergroup in. I tried just setting "official member" to allow, but the section was still viewable by all other membergroups unless I added all of them as denied.
Because X member is part of both "official member" and "supporter" groups...he could not access. I allow "official members" but not "supporters" because not all of them are official members.

Here is how it currently works
By default any membergroup can view a category unless there is a deny permission set on the membergroup.
Category permissions go by primary membergroup currently if you need support for additional membergroups let me know and I can add that.

If it's not a big deal to do, yes, that would be great. Most of our membergroups are non-primary, very few are primaries, only ones with greater access to the boards. It's complicated... ::) LOL
If you could set it up so it checked in both primary and secondary and allow/deny based on that it would be great. Would that, however, work with the way I have things set up?
For instance:
Bob
-supporter group
-official group
Steve
-supporter group
Item
-only allow official group, deny all others
If I set it to deny supporter group, but allow official group, would Bob still have access even if he is a member of both?

If this is too complicated, please don't worry about it. :D I do have an alternate solution by using the membergroup prices feature. I just make an item highly expensive ($9999.99) and then offer a sale to just the official group. It's been working out currently that way for a few months.

Bob would still have access if they are part of any group that has access to the category that overrides the deny setting.
Permissions do get kind of crazy in my head sometimes. Since you have like three different things to check for.
First primary group, second post groups, third additional groups.

I know the feeling. Like I said...we have about 30 different membergroups and I've had to fiddle with them to make sure only certain people have access to certain areas of the forum.
