Title: my second newsletter
Post by: SavvyQC on January 03, 2011, 11:56:21 am
hello!

So, i sent my first newsletter, and it seemed to parse thru all my members, so it wouldn't time out - and it sent! I don't recall setting up a list. At the time there were 173 members.

Now there are 212+ members. (They are rejoining from a transition away from phpbb)

This morning I tried to send my second newsletter. I hit 'send'  - and it returned me to the admin control panel start. I tried to send it out again, then checked the report and saw that 0 had sent.

Then the third time i tried to use my same letter, from the dropdown, and the previous 'list'....... only 93 went out.

How did it go so smoothly the first time?  I seem to be missing something.
 ???

How did you send on your second time? Did you use an existing list or chosen membergroups?

the second time i used the list from the first mailing.....which I think was a generated list. I never created the list the first time. It seems that the program cataloged members and created the list the first time. So, even if it had worked, it would have only send 173. That was over the weekend, we were at 212. Today we are at 242....it is growing. I need to get it sorted out before next month.

-Does a list get generated the first time?
-can i export a list through another function to use here?

The list does not get regenerated  basically what happens each time you send a message though news and newsletters a new list is created based on what membergroups you selected.

So next time when you send a message do not choose an existing list rechoose the membergroups to send the email to.
