Title: The links mod..
Post by: GameSocket on August 21, 2006, 06:18:38 am
Not sure this is where I put it..

But I have changed my permissions so that guests can add their site links. And it don't work.. I am told there is a link aproval waiting but opening it up and it shows nothing.

I logged out and put SMFHacks as a add link and it now says there are 2 waiting approval. But opening the page shows me nothing.

If I login as a  member(not admin) and place a link it shows.

I have guests permission set to add link.. but alas nothing there.

Anybody else try it at their site. Set for guests to add links and then add one as a guest. Login as admin and try and aprove it.

Any Idea on that.

The page shouldn't be blank....hmm there maybe an error then. Because no page should blank it should at least say you are not alllowed to do something.

Everything goes fine when a member posts a link. It shows up in the 'approve link'

But if a guest posts a link it tells me there is one to approve

but there is nothing there.

Remember it shows the link information if a member posts one.

Guests aren't currrently supported..But I have an idea I can add a guest section to the links apporval page and then you can approve links from there.

Sorry forgive me... redownload and do what with it. Uninstal the old one and reinstal and run instal.php?

ok, ~sigh~ I overwrote links.php and links.template and now guests show up, but when I approve the don't get listed. The only one left is linksql.php, where does that go? I can't find it in my site files.

If I uninstal and then reinstal the fixed version, would I lose all the links that are there?

Your links will always remain. When mod is unistall it doesn't drop the tables which is good in case you need to reinstall.

Damn, The links don't show up. I am now getting guests requesting links be added (so they add mine to their site). When I accept the link it don't show up in the catagory. It counts it, Games - Total Links: 11 but there is only 9 showing. If I go and put the link in manually it says that its already there, soo its just not showing up.

When I uninstalled there was 'test unsuccessful' in modifications.english.php..so maybe its because the edit wasn't there? would that help?

Damn, I am getting quite excited because guests are hunting me out and wanting to add and I can't comply.....

Everything else is now working with the mod, but showing up in the catagory.

Sorry to still bring this up. But the lniks that I accepted by guests are not showing up. If I accept them and they don't show up I tried putting them in manually and it says that they are already there.

any help

Yeah, not sure how i want to fix it. Currently the mod does not support guests.

My options to have all the guest ilnks appear first or last on the links page in the categories.

Cheers.
