Title: Newbie questions
Post by: iksa on October 29, 2013, 01:14:24 pm
Hi,

I just found this SMF Store and am considering to buy it and integrate it into my existing SMF forum. Before that I would like to see it in action, is that possible somehow/somewhere before buying? When the Store is bought and paid, do you get also the source codes so that it can be customized? Will it be easy to add additional payment methods in the Store, e.g. online bank services (I have a PHP API for them, but am wondering if this Store supports additional payment methods in the first place)?

Thanks,
iksa

Sending you a pm with demo information.

You have full access to the source code which you can customize. It is built around paypal but with some work you add some other payment modules.

Ok, thanks.

You said it's built around paypal so does that mean that there are paypal related code everywhere on the source code that I need to customize? I'm trying to figure out how much work it would be to add other payment methods. It would be easiest if everything related to payment methods were in an encapsulated piece of the sources...

Another thing: Is localization taken into account in the design of this product? At least in the transactions search view the order of year, month and day seemed to be hardcoded in separate edit controls, so how about languages that express them in another order?

Paypal related code is mainly store in the paypal processing file storeipn.php.. But is also in a couple other places. Mainly the creation of the buy it now, subscription buttons. Which could be swapped out or added to with other payment processors.
All the code is procedural based with functions.

All text strings are stored in language files. Store.english.php which you can create your own language file which can be translation
Date/Time format is based on SMF's settings using the timeformat function

Hi,
I have been looking for something like this all this while , but am glad you guys have done this. Please am considering buying, can i get a demo link where i can get a feel of how it works. Secondly will you mind another method of payment other than paypal or can your system process credit card (mastercard).
Also will it be possible for me to be guided in customizing it, especially with the payment system, i will not like to use paypal because my country is not on the paypal list.
Thanks.

I can setup an admin demo if you like via pm if you want to let me know.

The store is built around paypal. There is an option though to collect payment information manually such as credit cards...but you would need to process the information on your own virtual terminal.
