Title: Members Can't create a Category to upload photos to

For some reason the only option is "Upload photo"...
when you try to do that, it say's "error-You need to create a category first before you upload a picture".....but there's no way to create a category...
this is not a problem for admins, but for every other user...suggestions, please? regards, David

Is this for the main gallery or the user galleries?
User galleries the user is allowed to create their own categories.
For the main gallery only users with the Admin Gallery permission can add galleries.

this is for the member galleries...I've got a "regular member" ID that I use to test things out, so i'm able to confirm what other's are saying...members other than admin are unable to create a category in their own user galleries..David

p.s. I went in and set the permissions right after install, just to rule that out

p.s. I've also tried uninstalling and re-installing....
I did install gallery "light" first, but that's been uninstalled...any chance the fact that I had that first would cause a problem? David

Do you have the personall gallery permission on your permission pages?
If not post your Sources/ManagePermissions.php file here and I can fix it.

hi!

i´ve got the exactly same problem as david, when i click on "Add personal gallery picture" it says i need to create a category first, but i can´t, and im the sites admin

I have set the permissions right, but haven´t got the "personal gallery permission" tick box shown anywhere

smf: 1.1.11
gallery pro 2.5.7.1

First enter your license information for pro at
http://www.smfhacks.com/index.php?action=license

Then attach your Sources/ManagePermissions.php to your post.
This normally occurs if you have the lite edition and if it was not uninstalled or did uninstall correctly.

Your file looks ok. You should see personal gallery permission when edit a membergroups permissions.

What is the same issues your users are having?
Do they have the MyGallery link?

yes there is a gallery link and they can make categories but when trying to add a photo they get this message

strange thing is it seems to work ok if you use bulk upload

Under Admin -> Gallery Configuration -> Settings -> "Create a Default User Gallery Category"

Make sure setting is checked

Hmm it shouldn't ask that if they select a user gallery option when adding a picture.
