Title: Importing images and data from SMF Media Gallery?
Post by: CWVRV on August 12, 2020, 12:07:18 am
I searched, and found that, there's no converter, in a post from 2017.

3 years later:  Can I import all the albums, images and data to Gallery Pro from SMF Media Gallery?

I really hope so, I have 10 years of stuff in it!

If not, what do I do? Can I somehow spend weeks creating albums, downloading the photos, uploading them, then change the user ID in the database?

Thanks!

We do not have a convertor for it.

You might be able to upgrade to Aeva Media then convert to SMF Gallery from there.

Thanks for suggesting a possible option.
Aeva looks like it's been abandoned from SMF for their Wedge forum platform.

Square one.

Well yes it's no longer supported but you maybe able to convert to aeva i think they have a convertor.  smf media gallery is the old version of AEVA

If Aeva does work, can it then be converted to SMFHacks Gallery or Gallery Pro?

Was a bit of a trial getting Aeva on board, but it did.

I saw somewhere here there's a converter script to run in order to import all the images and data to Gallery and Gallery Pro.

I can't seem to find it.

Do I have to delete SMF Media Gallery before running the converter?

I assume I just upload the converter via the package manager and run it?

Do not delete it. Needs Aeva installed.
You copy the file to root of your SMF folder then call it via the browser
